The remains of a man believed to be Ronald Beyering, 62, of Soldotna, were found Saturday in the Funny River area. He had been a wanted fugitive by Alaska State Troopers since October of last year, when he was seen leaving the property of a residence fully engulfed in flames, according to trooper dispatch released at the time.
A Monday dispatch from the Alaska Bureau of Investigation says that around 8:30 p.m., Alaska State Troopers were notified of discovered human remains in the area. Troopers responded and found partial human remains, firearms and personal effects — leading them to presumably identify the remains as Beyering.
